My Top 10 Kane Brown Songs: Part 2

Hey guys! As promised, I’m back with part 2 of my top 10 Kane Brown songs. I’m super excited cause he has released some new music since my last post, and it’s definitely making its way onto this post.

If you missed part 1 of this series, make sure you check that out here!

1. Like I Love Country Music

Kane Brown announced that this would be the new radio single, although he had previously stated that Leave You Alone would be the new radio single (I love this song so that’s kind of sad that it’s not gonna make it yet 😭) but it was “too slow”. Anyway, this song is super cute, and it’s fun and upbeat. Click here for an adorable video of Kane and his oldest daughter, Kingsley, dancing to this song in his kitchen. Side note: am I the only one who finds his relationship with his daughters absolutely PRECIOUS?! I follow him on FaceBook and he is always dancing and singing with them. Also, I was originally writing this post the day this song came out, but my biggest talent is procrastinating, so here I am four days later still writing this post.

Favorite lyric: If I was stranded on an island, only way I could survive is If I had you and that needle dropping on a vinyl

I thought it was appropriate to add a photo with him and Kingsley for this song haha

2. Better Place

Y’all, this song is so cute, as many of his are. I’ll share Kane’s thoughts on the song here: “We didn’t really know what we were going to write when we went into the studio. One of the guys had this idea of just talking about a better place and we started talking about a girl and a guy and the guy giving everything and wanting to make her life everything she could possibly imagine until they were both in Heaven together. It was a cool story, and we just made it a George Strait kind of country song with a new-school twist.” I mean, c’mon. That’s adorable. (Shoutout to Iolana for loving this song with me. ❤)

Favorite lyric: Till we’re hand-in-hand, walking down them streets of gold

3. Wide Open

I don’t think one is super popular, but it has a really cool sound to it. Keeping this description short and sweet 😂

Favorite lyric: She was more than just a pretty face

4. Homesick

I think this is one of the first songs I had ever heard by him. It’s really soft and slow, super sweet. I got sick of it for a while due to overplaying, but I’m hooked again.

To be honest, I don’t think I have a favorite lyric. I just like the whole song.

Well, that concludes part 2 of my Kane Brown review. I hope you all enjoyed these posts and don’t forget to comment below any other artists y’all would like me to review! Hope you all have a fantabulous day!

My Top 10 Kane Brown Songs: Part 1

Hey, guys! So, if you know me, you know that I. Adore. Kane. Brown. He has such a wonderful voice and a wide variety of music. He has fast songs, slow songs, upbeat songs, sad songs. He certainly didn’t have an easy childhood growing up. He was raised by a single mother, as his father was incarcerated in 1996 when Kane Brown was three. He was sometimes homeless until he graduated and moved in with his grandmother who helped raise him.

After his school friend, Lauren Alaina (fun fact: they sang in choir together when Kane was in high school, and later, in 2017, they released “What Ifs” together), found success after auditioning for American Idol, Kane decided to try his hand with both American Idol and The X Factor. In 2013, he was chosen for The X Factor but left the show when the producers wanted to include him in a boy band (Restless Road, which is a great band and I highly recommend checking some of their songs out. Kane did a remake of “Country Roads” with them. It’s very interesting). Kane has dabbled in country, pop, hip hop, and country-pop, just to name a few genres.

Okie dokie, now that y’all know a little bit about him, let’s start the list. Please note that these are in no particular order because, as usual, I simply cannot choose favorites. Also, this is just part 1, so I’ll only list 5 songs.

1. Leave You Alone

This is a really beautiful song, as are so many of his. He’s talking about no matter what he and his wife go through, he will always stick beside her, no matter what.

Favorite lyric: I know I don’t say “you’re beautiful” enough, but that don’t mean it ain’t on my mind.

2. Whiskey Sour

This is one of his newest songs. It is so, so, so very sad, but I love it. He just sounds sad while singing this song. It has really pretty music in it, though.

Favorite lyric: We were two heartbeats away from wedding rings and a pretty ballgown dress.

3. Hometown

Oh my goodness, this song is so cute! It’s really fun and upbeat, and I was quite obsessed with it for a good long while. He’s talking about no matter how famous he gets, he’ll always remember his goal: making his hometown proud. He’ll never forget the people who helped him to achieve his goal, the people who were there through it all.

Favorite lyric: All the whining through the years, all the grinding of the gears, all the passion and the tears, man it paid off.

4. What’s Mine Is Yours

GUYS! This is the sweetest song EVER!!!!! Ok, maybe not ever, but this song is just PRECIOUS! I apologize for all the capital letters but I really love this song to pieces. It’s so beautiful; the piano, the lyrics, just the way his voice sounds. Ugh. I will never be tired of this song.

Favorite lyric: Now there’s makeup on my counter, your shoes on the floor, taking my side of the bed and more, but it’s fine, I don’t mind, cause you changed everything.

5. There Goes My Everything

Just another sweet song *sighs*. He has so many sweet songs, I can’t-. Anyway. Moving along from my fangirling.

That’s all for this one! I hope y’all enjoy reading this post! Part 2 is coming soon. Comment down below whose songs y’all would like me to review!

Also, I really want to do a post where I take random song suggestions from y’all, and then review them, so please drop your song suggestions in the comments!

New Logo!

I’ve been meaning to update this since I completely changed my blog theme, but I forgot 😂 Also, I need a new follower name since I’m not really going with the nature theme anymore. Something music-related. What do y’all think?

Shout out to Kaitlyn for making my logo, yet again

The Sunshine Blogger Tag

Hey, guys! I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Tag by Emily from Rooted Scribbles. I’ve never been nominated for a tag before, so this is all very new and exciting for me! It also seriously helped me with my writer’s block 😂

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and give a link to their blog.

Thank you, Em! ☺ (don’t forget to check out her amazing blog!)

2. Answer the questions.

3. Nominate 11 bloggers and ask them 11 questions.

Emily came up with some great questions, so let’s get started!

  1. Who is your all-time favorite character? (it can be from a book or movie)

Ooh, this is a tough question. There are so many characters I love; in movies, tv shows, books…..I think Legolas would definitely have to be on my list, cause I mean…it’s Legolas. Also, Olaf, cause he’s adorable and awesome. I could go on, but I’ll leave it at that.

2. What is your favorite flower?

Carnations, hands down. And sunflowers, cause they are very happy looking flowers 😂

3. If you were an animal, what animal would you be? Why?

Hmmm. I was going to say a panda since they are my favorite animals, but I think I’m gonna go with a cat. They’re so pampered and people love them no matter what cause they’re just too adorable to not like 😂

4. If you had your own boat, what would you name it?

Huh. Interesting question. Maybeeee something music-related? Like “The Melody”. Yup. There we go 😂

5. What’s a talent you have that isn’t useful but still impressive?

Well, the other day someone told me I was talented because I gave the best hugs, so we’ll go with that 😆

6. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?

I always thought Elizabeth was a really pretty name. I like names that can have several nicknames, like Elizabeth. You could go by Eliza, Beth, Liz, Lizzie, Liza, and of course Elizabeth.

7. What is your favorite song right now?

Right now I’m really into What’s Mine Is Yours by Kane Brown, Take My Hand by 5 Seconds of Summer (one of my new favorite bands), Take My Name by Parmalee, and My Person by Spencer Crandall. You should be able to click on the title and go to the song 😊

8. What weird food combination do you enjoy?

Pickles and tomatoes? Does that count?

9. What movie can you watch over and over again and never get tired of?

The Greatest Showman, of course. It’s the best. I could never get tired of it.

10. What mythical creature do you wish actually existed?

To be honest, I don’t have an answer for this. 😂

11. Where do you feel most at home? (besides your own home)

I would have to go with my aunt and uncle’s house. Going there and spending time with them and my cousin is the best. We have lots of Among Us parties 😂

Well, that was lots of fun! Thanks again for nominating me for my first-ever tag, my homie 😂 (inside joke. I promise I DO NOT say homie on a daily basis 😂)

My Nominees:

Wellll, I know that’s only 9, but I can’t think of any more.

I also wanted to nominate some of my faithful followers who don’t have blogs. Y’all are all special, and deserve some fun, too, so here ya go:

  • Becky Wright (love you, Aunt Becky!)
  • Rosalie Durie (My bestieeee!)
  • Iolana Chapin (my girllll!)
  • Leilani Chapin (love you, Mrs. Leilani!)
  • It’s Yuki Btw (you’re probably not gonna see this, but you’re nominated 😂)

If my nominees decide to do the tag, (no pressure if you don’t want to! 😊) here are my questions!

  1. What’s your favorite band?
  2. What’s your favorite candy?
  3. What’s your favorite book of the Bible?
  4. Who’s your favorite author?
  5. What’s your favorite drink?
  6. What’s your favorite indoor pasttime?
  7. What’s your favorite outdoor pasttime?
  8. What’s your favorite season?
  9. What’s your favorite TV show?
  10. What’s your favorite animal?
  11. What’s your favorite food?

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Again, please don’t feel pressured to do the tag if you don’t want to. For those of you who do, I can’t wait to see your answers!

Comfort Music Collab with Hannah

Hey guys! It’s been a long time since I’ve done a collab with anyone, so I was very excited when Hannah reached out to me wanting to do one. We decided to list our favorite comfort music. Here’s Hannah’s list! Don’t forget to go over to her blog Books, Espresso, and Jesus, to see my list 🙂

Thank you so much for doing this with me, Lilly! Since Lilly (from Lilly Bug’s Not-So-Secret-Diary) and I both share a love of music, we decided to go for our go-to comfort music! I typically use music as my emotional outlet, and consequently this post could easily be quite long, but I’ll keep it to my top 10. I was torn between keeping it all Christian or all secular, so I’ll split it in half; five Christian songs, and five secular. Also, they’re listed in a random order because when it comes to my music, I can NOT pick favorites! XD

  1. Weary Traveler – Jordan St. Cyr (Christian)

This song hits hard, especially when I’m struggling. I’ve used this song for countless emotional breakdowns, and it’s what I describe as a “God thing”. This is one of those songs I wish I could listen to again for the first time.

  1. The Commision – CAIN (Christian)

This song. It’s beautiful, literally just beautiful.

  1. Don’t Quit – Jordan Smith (Christian)

Okay, but Jordan Smith!? How does that man not have more recognition than he does?! HIS VOICE IS GORGEOUS. Point blank gorgeous.

  1. God, Turn it Around – Jon Reddick (Christian)

So this song is one my mom introduced me to lately, and it’s quickly become a favorite of mine! A super moving song with very relatable lyrics.

  1. Love Me Like I Am – for KING & COUNTRY (Christian)

So around Christmas time, my family and I went to a for KING & COUNTRY concert, and they played this song (at that time not released yet), and I instantly fell in love. So needless to say, I stalked their latest releases on Spotify even more than I already do. This came out a few weeks ago, and I was quite literally squealing in joy. Please, just listen to it. I beg you.

Honorable Mention – Just Be Held – Casting Crowns (Christian)

Honorable mention! Sorry y’all, I couldn’t help myself! I’ve loved this song for years, and it holds a lot of meaning in my life. Definitely a go to.

  1. Sign of the Times – Harry Styles (Pop)

Harry Styles… He has some shockingly good songs! I’m actually working on the piano music/singing for this one to do for a recital in around a month, so I’ve listened to it COUNTLESS of times. It’s still one of my favorites though! Definitely a gorgeous song. And btw, does anyone else feel like it has a 50’s-ish rock feel to it? I think it does.. Probably why I like it so much lol

  1. Don’t Give Up On Me – Andy Grammer (Pop)

This song is just soooo pretty and emotional! I love Andy Grammer’s voice, and this song has to be one of his best!

  1. Hollow – Tori Kelly (Pop/Christian)

Tori Kelly! That woman has a beautiful voice, and this song is so gorgeous. Back a few years ago, I really struggled with being waaaay too introverted, and feeling super lonely, and this song was literally my go to for over two years.

  1. Happy – Pharrell Williams (Pop)

Hehehe, this song is my life’s anthem now.

  1. Somebody Like That – Tenille Arts (Country)

Aaaand I gotta throw in some country music in this list, I mean come on, I listen to it daily lol. And this song is just so lovely I can’t help it XD.

Honorable Mention – The Good Ones – Gabby Barrett (Country)

Another honorable mention!!! This song is so pretty and exactly what I want my future to be like. Plus Gabby Barrett is one of those rare, actually Christian country artists who has a beautiful voice. If you haven’t heard of her until now, this is your SIGN to go check her out!

Okay, so this was wayyy harder to do than I thought it would be, I had so many I could have added and wanted to add! Music is a huge part of my life, and I would probably be slightly lost without it. I hope if you’re reading this, you check out some of the songs, they’re all clean and super pretty. Also be prepared to cry if you’re even a slightly emotional human being. I DID warn you! Thank you Lilly; this was so much fun!!!

Unpopular Music Opinions

Hey, guys! Today I am asking you to give me your unpopular music opinions! I got the idea from Evin, go check out her post here!:

Basically, all y’all need to do is comment your unpopular music opinions, and I’ll be reacting to them! So comment down below any opinions you have, and depending on how many comments I get, hopefully we can do the post this weekend! Thanks, guys!

Now, I have two different playlists, on two different apps, so I’ll be shuffling both and giving y’all the first 5 songs that come up. Please note that I got the genre types from Wikipedia (well, the ones that I could find. Some are just guess work lol). My Top 5 Christian Artists

Hey guys! I wanted to do a list of my favorite Christian artists for any of you who need recommendations! Y’all may already know them, cause they’re pretty popular. If you have any lists you’d like to see me do, please put your ideas in the comments! I will try to get to those. I still need to do a Shawn Mendes album review for Hannah, and a One Direction album review for Iolana. I promise, I will try to do those soon! They are both in the drafts right now.

The links on their names should take you to their Wikipedia page, for more info that I didn’t provide. I put links on all the songs, hopefully they all work. If not, please let me know so I can get that fixed! Thank y’all. 💖

1. NF

I’m sure everyone is shocked to see that name on here. *nervous laughter* To probably no one’s surprise, NF made the top of the list. Nathan Feuerstein (NF) is a 30-year-old American Christian rapper, who has released 5 albums. He is my favorite Christian artist and has been for about a year. Song recommendations: Outcast, Lost In the Moment, This Thing Called Love

2. Tauren Wells

Tauren Wells is an American Christian Pop artist, with two albums. For some reason I could not figure out how old he was. If you know, please comment down below! Tauren has SO many good songs. My favorite one at the moment is “Citizen of Heaven“. It is such a fun, upbeat song, and the music video is awesome. Tauren can sing, dance, and just seems like an all-around good person. Song recommendations: Known, Hills and Valleys.

3. Danny Gokey

Danny Gokey is a 41-year-old American Gosepl Singer who made himself known when he placed in third on the eighth season of “American Idol”. He has released 8 albums. I think one of the first songs of his that I heard was “Hope In Front of Me“, which is a powerful song with a positive message. He has a lot of really good songs. Song recommendations: Tell Your Heart to Beat Again, Haven’t Seen It Yet

Poor Danny, I don’t know why his photo is so small compared to the others.

4. Micah Tyler

Micah Tyler is a 38-year-old with 3 albums. I LOVE Micah Tyler because he almost sounds country. Kind of. Sort of. Anwyay, he has an awesome voice, and tons of good songs. The first song I heard of his was “Different“, and I really, really liked it. After I heard that one I started researching more of his songs and started liking him even more. My mom bought his “Different” album where I discovered more songs that I just loved! One of my personal favorites is “If She Only Knew.” Song recommendations: Never Been A Moment, Even Then

5. For King & Country

FK&C is an Australian Christian band made up of two brothers, Luke and Joel (37) Smallbone. For some reason when I search “Luke Smallbone” things for Joel come up….I couldn’t figure out how old Luke was, if you know, please tell me in the comments! They have 5 albums. I can’t remember what the first song of theirs I heard, we’ve been listening to them for quite a while. I do know that I have a video of my younger brother and I singing “Priceless” on our camcorder from several years ago😂 Song recommendations: God Only Knows, Burn the Ships.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post, and don’t forget to comment lists you’d like me to do! Or reviews. Any list/review ideas y’all have, I’d love to hear them 🥰 Hope y’all (I say y’all too much, don’t I?) have a great day/night!
